MCIS

Students can search by career cluster or by a specific career title to find: general work activities, helpful high school courses, skills and abilities, employment outlook, preparation needed, working conditions, and wages.  Students are able to find related programs of study and link those to schools that offer those programs in Minnesota or other states.

Students can complete a “School Sort” which allows them to find schools that interest them based on selected criteria.  Students can find information on: programs of study, Minnesota colleges and universities, colleges and universities throughout the U.S., apprenticeship programs, and financial aid.

Students are able to take several assessments in order to explore which career clusters match their interests and view the occupations in those clusters.  Students can also determine how much money they will need to attain the lifestyle they desire through a “Reality Check” assessment.  There are several informal assessments students are able to utilize such as a Learning Styles Survey, Employability Skills Survey and an Entrepreneurial Career Assessment.

Students are able to practice taking college entrance exams, the ASVAB, GED, and other exams.  There are online prep courses as well as practice tests for the ACT and SAT.
